Join them as they face challenges, make friends, and learn valuable lessons in this exciting series.” First a little about the characters...

Hi, my name is Bronco Brock Brassica! I was grown along with my siblings, Chloe and Eleanor Brassica, and we are all part of the Broccoli family. We are an edible green plant, and our large flowering heads, stalks, and small associated leaves are eaten as a vegetable. Broccoli is classified in the Italica cultivar group of the species Brassica oleracea, just like our last name! Our fresh and crisp flavor makes us a healthy and delicious addition to any dish. Get your Bronco Brock, Chloe, and Eleanor, today and add some green to your meal

Broccoli (Brassica oleracea var. italica) is an edible green plant in the cabbage family (family Brassicaceae, genus Brassica) whose large flowering head, stalk and small associated leaves are eaten as a vegetable. Broccoli is classified in the Italica cultivar group of the species Brassica oleracea. Broccoli has large flower heads, usually dark green, arranged in a tree-like structure branching out from a thick stalk which is usually light green. The mass of flower heads is surrounded by leaves. Broccoli resembles cauliflower, which is a different but closely related cultivar group of the same Brassica species.

It is eaten either raw or cooked. Broccoli is a particularly rich source of vitamin C and vitamin K. Contents of its characteristic sulfur-containing glucosinolate compounds, isothiocyanates and sulforaphane, are diminished by boiling but are better preserved by steaming, microwaving or stir-frying.[3]

Rapini, sometimes called "broccoli rabe," is a distinct species from broccoli, forming similar but smaller heads, and is actually a type of turnip (Brassica rapa).[4]

“Carrots are more than just friends to me,” Corrine declared, feeling her green, leafy hair flutter in the summer breeze. “They are my kin. Look at me, I have the same vibrant orange hue as they do.” She strained to free herself from the rich soil that trapped her tapered body. As a young carrot, I read all about myself on Wikipedia, here's what they said: The carrot (Daucus carota subsp. sativus) is a root vegetable, typically orange in color, though purple, black, red, white, and yellow cultivars exist, all of which are domesticated forms of the wild carrot, Daucus carota, native to Europe and Southwestern Asia. The plant probably originated in Persia and was originally cultivated for its leaves and seeds. The most commonly eaten part of me is my taproot, although my stems and leaves are also eaten.  Domestic carrots have been selectively bred for our enlarged, more palatable, less woody-textured taproot. "I don't know if I like the idea of people eating me, but, when life issues lemons, make lemonade! Read down about my cousin Lemon-head Lenny, he's a sourpuss! On that note,  carrot juice anyone?"

Citrus Fruits

Meet Lemon headed Lenny,
he's a sourpuss.

Sourpuss? Me? That’s what some people call me, but I think they’re just jealous of my zesty personality. Especially my cousin Corinne, who has orange and wrinkled skin, but what can you expect? She is a carrot with green hair and a pointy body. Last time we had an argument, she told me I had a type Vitamin C personality, and I told her she was full of Beta Carotene. We don’t like to fight, though, we have more important things to do, like telling you our stories.

I’m not just any lemon (Citrus limon), I’m a bright yellow citrus fruit with a zesty aroma and a sour taste that can make your taste buds dance. I come from the exotic lands of Asia, mainly Northeast India (Assam), Northern Myanmar or China. My ancestors have been around for centuries and have been used for many purposes.

My yellow fruit is famous all over the world for its many uses. You can squeeze my juice and drink it, or use it to clean and disinfect things. You can also use my pulp and rind to add flavor and texture to your dishes and desserts. My juice is very acidic, with a pH of around 2.2, which gives me a sour taste that some people love and other people like my cousin Corinne the carrot hate. But no matter what, you can’t deny that I’m a versatile and refreshing fruit that can brighten up your day. That’s why I’m the star of many drinks and foods, such as lemonade and lemon meringue pie.
